About BOXIS Guitars

I'm Alexis, founder of BOXIS Guitars.

Passion infuses everything I do. My insatiable curiosity is driven by the desire to learn and explore new perspectives.

Since my childhood, I have been sensitive to art thanks to my father, a painter, who passed on his passion for creation to me. This sensitivity and passion for music was awakened when my brother bought his first guitar. I spent hours playing it, spellbound, discovering a real fascination for this instrument which continued to grow over time. At the same time, in order to perfect my playing, I joined several groups as a guitarist. Also, when I was still a teenager, I went to meet luthiers so that they could introduce me to their profession which already captivated me.

My interest in music led me to work as a salesperson in a music store: I was able to deepen and develop my technical knowledge, learned to listen to my customers and respond to their needs. During this professional experience, I worked closely with a luthier. It was then that I discovered a second passion: woodworking, more particularly guitar building.

Combining my interests, I decided to pursue DIY guitar building and use my knowledge of art, music, and woodworking to create unique, custom instruments.

This is how BOXIS Guitars was born in 2022 in Lyon, France.
